On the 6th of August 2024, Loreto Day School Elliot Road celebrated a heartfelt farewell program for Mrs. Nandini Bhattacharjee, a revered colleague and history expert, who had dedicated 30 years of exemplary service to the institution. The event was organized under the theme "Journey Forward," symbolizing the new paths and adventures awaiting Mrs. Bhattacharjee in her future endeavours.
The program commenced with a solemn prayer service, invoking blessings and gratitude for Mrs. Bhattacharjee’s contributions and wishing her well on her onward journey.
The cultural segment began with a beautiful rendition of shayari, capturing the essence of Ma’am’s journey and the emotions tied to her departure. The poignant verses resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting her impactful presence in the school. Following the shayari, a poetry recitation based on the same theme, eloquently conveyed the admiration and respect she garnered over the years. A series of vibrant dance performances ensued, showcasing the cultural diversity and talent within the school, ranging from classical to contemporary, symbolizing the dynamic and forward-moving theme of the event. Finally, the soulful musical performances by the students, perfectly encapsulated the sentiments of farewell and the anticipation of new beginnings.
Our Principal, Mrs. J.G. Surana, delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting Ma’am’s remarkable career and her invaluable contributions to the school's history department. The principal expressed deep gratitude for her dedication, wisdom, and the positive impact she had on both students and staff.
Mrs. Bhattacharjee was then felicitated with a memento and a bouquet as tokens of appreciation. Colleagues shared their personal anecdotes and experiences, celebrating her excellence as an educator and a person.
Mrs. Bhattacharjee also addressed the audience during which she reminisced about her 30-year journey at Loreto Day School Elliot Road, expressing her heartfelt thanks to everyone, and shared her hopes for the future.
