Description:
Twenty of our girls from classes 2 to 5 got an opportunity to attend a two- day Literary fest called the Apeejay Kolkata Literary Fest held at the Oxford Book Centre on Park Street. The sessions were conducted by well known authors .Children from various schools all across the city were present for this 45 - minute session. On the 11th , ten of our girls were fortunate to meet a renowned author Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan. She spoke about the books she has written. She narrated stories with voice overs. She explained that her stories came from her travels, experiences, and love for folklore. On the 12th the other ten girls got the opportunity to interact with yet another author, Ms. Hemangini Dutt Mazumdar who spoke on her latest release- a book of mystery for children- The Mystery of the Many, Many Missing Things. She spoke about the story without letting out the solution to the mystery so that the children would feel the need to buy the book. The children also got a chance to interact with the authors through question and answer sessions . The whole event inspired them . The students took an active part in the sessions and left the fest with so many new ideas and ,of course, an opportunity to dive back into the world of books. It was a delightful learning experience for the children inspiring them to keep on reading.
