Description: On 24th March, 2021, Sr. Marilla’s farewell was organized by the Junior and Senior school teachers as well as members of the Student Council. At first, the Student Council Members along with Sister Marilla and the teachers had attended a mass concelebrated by Father Arun which brought about a spiritual ambience in the school. After the mass, the students and staff took a short break following which was the cultural programme commemorating Sister Marilla D’Souza's journey in the school. Along with the student council and faculty members, Father Arun, Sr. Balika and Sr. Phyllis were also present to join LER to celebrate Sister Marilla’s service to this institution. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp ceremony to invoke God’s divine grace followed by a short prayer.The rainbow students also joined the celebrations by dancing to the zingy beats of peppy music. An array of powerpoint presentations and videos were also presented to display not only thefond memories Sister had collected over the years but also hues of her charismatic and vivacious character. Videos were also compiled by the junior and senior school students comprising myriads of spectacular performances, enthralling the hearts of the enraptured audience. The senior school programme, based on Goa, Sister’s hometown was well appreciated by one and all. Miss Ireland, the junior school coordinator, Miss Handa, the middle school coordinator, Chattru Bhaiya, a member of the school support staff, Madhurima Dey, the school head girl and Komal Pillai, anex. student of the school were called upon to share their experiences with Sister. Mrs. Quadra, an ex teacher of the school also shared her much appreciated thoughts on Sister through a short video. Sister was also felicitated by the School teachers, the student council and classes 10 and 12 with tokens of love, gratitude and appreciation for her invaluable service to the school.Another special moment of the programme was a certificate distribution ceremony where Sister herself lauded the members of the current Student Council with certificates for their contributions to the ongoing virtual activities of the school.Following the ceremony was Sister Marilla’s speech wherein she expressed her love and affection for the entire Loreto family. At last the Vice Principal of the institution, Sr. Clara concluded the programme with her valuable words bythanking her for her dedication and commitmentthroughout her term as Principal. Indeed, Sr. Marilla's farewell was both joyous and at the same time doleful as the entire Loreto clan poignantly bid farewell to one of the most cherished members of Loreto.
