General Rules Of Conduct And Discipline
  • Enrolment in Loreto Elliot Road implies, on the part of the pupil and parents, a willingness to comply with the requirements and regulations of the school.
  • Pupils are expected to behave in a lady-like manner on all occasions. They should address their teachers and companions with gentleness and courtesy. Refinement of manner, uprightness and self-restraint should distinguish every pupil of the school.
  • Visiting clubs, restaurants, markets and theatres in school uniform is strictly forbidden.
  • Girls wearing school uniforms are not to speak to boys on the street and parents are requested not to send young boys to school to collect the girls.
  • Attendance is compulsory on non-teaching or activity days, like Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, Picnics, Sports Day, etc.
  • Attendance is compulsory two days before the commencement of the examinations and holidays and on the first day of school after holidays. Every pupil is expected to contribute towards small school shows and local charities.
  • Pupils are responsible for their own books, money, etc. and are advised to keep them in locked bags or cases. Nothing of valuable nature should be brought to school. Any wilful damage to school property will have to be replaced by the offender.
  • Uniform is compulsory even on birthdays. Children are permitted to distribute only sweets to their classmates.
  • Pupils are expected to walk on the left, in the corridor and stair-cases. When going from one class to another, girls should walk in a single line.
  • Should a student be injured or takes ill during school hours, the school will make every effort to contact the parent first. However, in case this is not possible, the school authorities will take necessary measures as deemed fit.
  • Children may be asked to stay back after school hours for an hour or so or may be asked to come in on a holiday. When this happens the students MUST comply and need to make their own alternate transport arrangement.
  • All girls from Class IV and above are required to do some form of social work within and outside school hours and school days.
  • No collection for any purpose whatsoever may be made without the Principal’s previous sanction and due notice to parents.
  • Irregular attendance, habitual idleness, disobedience or any other poor conduct, injurious to the tone of the school, is sufficient reason for dismissal of a pupil.
  • No pupil may leave the school premises without the permission of the Principal, and the required Gate Pass. Special Passes will be issued only at the written request of the parents. The observance of this regulation is of vital importance for the safety of the children and school.

Note To Parents


  • This diary is for official use only and must be reserved for notices, homework and instructions it must be brought to school each day and produced for inspection whenever required. Parents are particularly requested to sign Reports and Circulars and to attend Parent/ Teacher Meetings when required.
  • Parents are informed that the diary is used to communicate with the parents and they are encouraged to do likewise. They are requested therefore to check their daughter’s diary every day.
  • Parents are earnestly requested to see that their children attend school regularly. They are asked to cooperate with the work of the school by enforcing regularity and discipline and by taking a general interest in their children’s progress. If they are asked to sign their daughter’s assignment, it is expected that, they do so. They are required to have a minimum of 80% attendance in the academic year. Promotion may be denied if the attendance criteria are not met. The decision of the school authorities with regard to promotion is FINAL.
  • If the Report Card is misplaced or lost, a duplicate will be issued with only marks written on the payment of Rs. 150/-.
  • The teachers, whenever free are available to the students, for any clarification on any subject matter Parents or Guardians cannot meet teachers during school hours without the prior permission of the Principal or previous appointment as the member of the staff may not leave the classroom during a teaching period.
  • Parents are requested to read the General Rules of Conduct and Discipline and to note the regulations regarding the payment of fees.
  • Parents are also requested to notify the Principal of any change of address, landline number or mobile numbers. The parents are requested not to keep their cell phones switched off during school hours and they must save the school number on their mobile phones. This will help the school to contact the parent in case of an urgent need.
  • Parents are to give their children a snack if they have to stay back after school. Buying eatables from the street vendors is forbidden, in school uniform.
  • School Office Hours are from 9:00 a.m to 9:45 a.m daily. The Principal is available from 9:00a.m to 10:00a.m (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) or by prior appointment.
  • Parents are requested to see that their children attend school punctually and to ensure that those who come to take the children home are here, at the hour of dismissal. The school authorities are not called for at the time of dismissal. The observance of this regulation is of vital importance for the safety of the children and for the school discipline.
  • Parents are requested to leave immediately after dropping their children to school in the morning.
  • Pupils whose conduct is INJURIOUS TO THE MORAL TONE of the School or fail to observe discipline are liable to be dismissed. In particular, stealing, resorting to unfair means during tests and examination, and any form of verbal, written obscenity or behavioural acts of violence may entail dismissal.
  • Pupils whose presence, in the opinion of the Principal, is not BENEFICIAL, or whose application is unsatisfactory, or whose parents/ guardians show little interest in their progress, will be required to withdraw their wards from the school.
