Description:
A special assembly was conducted by class V in the junior school hall on 20th June, 2019. The assembly was put up separately for the junior and senior sections of the school. Sr. Sabrina (Director, Rainbow Homes, Kolkata) Sr. Edline (Project in- charge of Rainbow Home, Elliot Road), Ms. Priscilla Roy and Mr. Shalen who help the Rainbow Homes in Kolkata were the special invitees. The theme for the assembly was “Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud”. The assembly began with a skit which showed the joy and satisfaction felt by a little girl when she shared her birthday gift of Rs 500 with her loved one and the less fortunate .This was followed by a prayer and a hymn. Sr. Sabrina was then invited to address the students and the teachers. Sister thanked all the students from classes I to XII, the teachers and Sr. Marilla D’Souza for the sacrifices they had made during the entire summer vacation to contribute towards a noble cause. She added that the children also shared their school space with the Rainbow girls which were a hundred in number. She expressed her gratitude for the same. A representative from each section of classes I to XII came up to the stage and presented a money box to sister. Ms. Priscilla Roy introduced herself and thanked everyone for their generosity. It was heartwarming to listen to the little children’s experiences of the effort and the little sacrifices they had made to contribute from their pocket money. A video that reflected how the Rainbow children were being nurtured with good food, kept safe by providing shelter and being empowered by providing education was shown. It was indeed very inspiring and a source of encouragement for everyone to join in the Rainbow Project by showing their love and concern.
