Catholic Teachers' Guild Celebration of Teachers' Day

Description: The Catholic Teachers' Guild organized their Annual Celebration of Teachers' Day with a Eucharistic Celebration in St Thomas' Church , Middleton Row followed by the AGM , Award ceremony and entertainment programme in Loreto House on 21st September. This year, besides awarding Teachers who completed 25 years of service, the guild decided to recognize the retired teachers and present them with a Legendary Award. The Mass began at 4pm and His Grace, Archbishop Thomas D'Souza was the main celebrant. After the Mass, Bishop gave a special blessing to all the Legendary awardees and the Jubilarians. After the AGM, the Legendary awardees were presented with a trophy, certificate, uttorio and666ÿ gift. Our very own Mrs. Mavis Partridge who retired last year was a recipient of this award. It was indeed a proud moment for not only her but for all of us present there from Elliot Road. The Jubilarians were then honoured, followed by an entertainment programme. Our teachers put up a prayer dance and was one of the seven schools that had performed that day. This much we can say- It was an evening to remember.
